Ocean Enthusiasts
Freediving is the best way to approach ocean creatures in their elements. For example, scuba divers tend to scare sharks away because of the noise generated by the "bubble blowing". We freedive with these majestic creatures almost every week end! You can approach turtles, rays, and all sorts of fish in the serenity of their environment. It is very easy on the week end to grab your suit, mask and fins, take a plunge in the ocean and spend time scaring gropers away!
Scuba Divers
It is a known fact that Freedivers make a better use of their tank! Using the techniques learnt in a Freediving course, you can learn how to relax more underwater, breathe more efficiently, approach fish/sharks/turtles more quietly, and perfect your equalization. You probably only know how to equalize by "pinch and blow". Well, we have 4 other techniques available when this does not work!
Spear-fishermen
Spear-fishermen can get a lot of benefit from Freediving training: better efficiency underwater, longer bottom time to wait for that fish and deeper dives are just a few. With freediving techniques you will learn how to breathe and relax using Yoga techniques, equalize more efficiently for dives below 20 meter, and increase your breath-hold. We also spend a fair bit of time on safety, to make sure you know how to prevent and handle a blackout or a samba! About half of our customers are spear-fishermen and we have had great feedback.
Surfers
Ever wondered what to do when there is no swell? Sick of sitting on the beach looking at windblown waves? Well, Freediving helps remove that frustration! Surfers have a natural ability to hold their breath and dive deeper without fear of depth. You can also gain a lot from Freediving training as you learn how to relax and spend an extended time underwater during extended hold-downs. You may even surprise yourself hoping that this Coastalwatch chart stays flat!
Fitness Addicts!
Embracing Freediving is embracing a lifestyle! Most committed Freedivers have a very healthy lifestyle: Yoga practice twice a week, training in the pool twice a week, dry training (running, apnea walking), and diving on the week end... Now, instead of going to the gym, you could be competing with your mates on who can swim the longer distance, or dive deeper! And if you already practice Yoga regularly, you will be surprised of how long you can hold your breath with just an hour of coaching.
